"This Godforsaken Profession"
One of my friends on Facebook, a relatively new lawyer (and not a St. Thomas grad), recently posted a striking warning on his wall in connection with this link (which describes a Boston law firm offering new hires $10,000/year):

Some have described law school and the debt levels incurred as a form of indentured servitude, thus working as a lawyer is the only way one can survive in order to pay off or down the debt. If this is an accurate description of the situation it should come as little surprise that the indentured servants would advise those still free to pursue other opportunities.
